Their responsibilities typically include:
Operational Duties:
Supervising daily operations, including food preparation and service. Ensuring the kitchen and dining areas are clean, organized, and comply with health and safety regulations. Managing inventory and ordering supplies to maintain stock levels (ingredients, packaging, etc.). Monitoring and maintaining equipment to ensure functionality.
Team Management:
Assisting in recruiting, training, and scheduling staff. Supervising employees to ensure excellent customer service and adherence to company policies. Addressing team concerns and fostering a positive work environment. Stepping into roles (e.g., cooking, taking orders) when the team is short-staffed.
Customer Service:
Addressing customer inquiries, complaints, or feedback professionally and promptly. Ensuring customers have a pleasant dining experience. Managing delivery or takeout orders efficiently.
Administrative Tasks:
Assisting with financial responsibilities, such as cash handling, daily sales reports, and deposits. Supporting the manager in implementing marketing strategies and promotions. Tracking performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Leadership Support:
Acting as the primary manager in the absence of the general manager. Communicating effectively with upper management about operations, challenges, and successes. Implementing policies, procedures, and standards established by the organization. The role requires strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on ensuring both employee satisfaction and customer delight.
