Job Description
Position Overview The General Manager is the on-site leader responsible for all facets of operations at Jellystone Park™ Lake of the North, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, a strong team culture, and consistent financial performance. This role champions the park's values—Customer Satisfaction, Growth, Teamwork, Integrity, and Passion—in every interaction, decision, and initiative. The General Manager sets the tone for the property's culture and brings hospitality to life at every touchpoint. Because Lake of the North operates with a small, collaborative team, this is a hands-on working manager position. In addition to leading employees and overseeing the park's operations, the General Manager is expected to work alongside the team and directly assist in departments as operational needs arise. This may include supporting the front office, housekeeping, maintenance, retail, recreation, food and beverage, or other areas of the park. The successful candidate will be comfortable shifting between strategic leadership and day-to-day operational work while modeling teamwork, flexibility, and a willingness to step in wherever needed. Due to the nature of campground operations, this position is required to reside on-site or within a reasonable distance of the park from April 1 through October 31 to provide leadership during evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Culture Recruit, coach, and retain a high-performing, hospitality-driven team aligned with Jellystone Park™ Lake of the North values. Build a culture of accountability, open communication, development, and recognition. Lead weekly team meetings, performance check-ins, and seasonal training. Model positivity, patience, and consistency in interactions with staff and guests. Financial Oversight Collaborate with Ownership to develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor performance metrics such as revenue, labor, expenses, and profit margins. Submit weekly reports and manage petty cash, inventory controls, and vendor purchasing. Identify new income opportunities and areas for cost savings. Guest Experience Lead a guest service strategy that prioritizes communication, empathy, and proactive solutions. Respond to guest feedback and use it to enhance operations. Ensure consistent, high-quality guest interactions across all departments. Support recreation and activity programming that aligns with the brand and enhances family fun.
