Position Summary:

The Dining Experience Manager oversees daily operations across assigned campus dining venues, ensuring high quality food service, excellent customer experience, and consistent adherence to safety, sanitation, and allergen management standards. This role supports the Dining Experience Department by managing coverage in absence of the directors, supervising staff, coordinating production and service, monitoring inventory, and maintaining smooth workflow during all meal periods. The Dining Experience Manager has primary responsibility for staffing, management, entertainment scheduling, and budget responsibilities for the Cat's Pause restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Experience

Schedule and manage all student entertainment in the dining areas. At least ten hours per week is expected, with at least five hours per week of current/former student performances in teh CP.

Suggest physical space improvements annually in December and June to the Director of Dining Experience and Vice President for Student Experience.

Ensure that all areas are clean and approachable for prospective and current students.

Work with our partners in Facilities Management to make quick repairs when there are issues with tables, seats, equipment, etc. Operational Leadership

Oversee day-to-day operations of dining room, Cat's Pause, LAB or other assigned venues.

Ensure all stations open and close on time with proper setup, signage, and food availability.

Monitor food quality, portioning, presentation, and adherence to menu standards.

Support execution of special events, catering, and theme meals. Staff Supervision

Hire, train, direct, and support student workers and fulltime/parttime staff during shifts. Assign daily tasks, station rotations, and break schedules at least two weeks in advance.

Provide on the spot coaching to maintain service standards and efficiency. Assist with onboarding and ongoing skills development. Customer Service

Maintain a welcoming, student-centered environment across all dining locations. Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. Model positive, service-oriented behavior for all staff. Food Safety & Allergen Compliance

Enforce all health department, HACCP, and campus safety standards.

Ensure proper labeling, allergen communication, and cross contact/contamination prevention. Conduct routine temperature checks, sanitation logs, and equipment inspections. Inventory & Production Support

Monitor product levels during service and communicate replenishment needs. Assist with receiving, storage, rotation, and waste tracking. Report shortages, overproduction, or quality issues to the Director of Dining Experience.

Support accurate execution of recipes and production sheets. Administrative & Coordination Duties

Complete shift reports, incident logs, and staff attendance records.

Communicate daily updates, menu changes, and operational needs to the DIning Director team. Support scheduling by reporting staffing gaps or performance concerns.

Ensure compliance with meal plan and student ID card procedures at POS stations.

Qualifications:

Experience in food service, hospitality, or institutional dining (college/university preferred).

Supervisory or leadworker experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and allergen protocols.

Strong communication, organization, and problem solving skills.

Ability to work in a fast paced, multivenue environment.

ServSafe certification or equivalent (or ability to obtain).

Physical Requirements:
