Coyote Kitchen is a long-time local favorite here in Boone, NC. We've been serving up southwestern and Caribbean soul food since 2003. We're proud to offer many vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and allergy friendly options. New in 2023, the entire dining room has been renovated including the addition of a full service bar complete with 20 Lost Province beers on tap and specializing in unique and fun craft cocktails. Coyote Kitchen is proud to be a family owned and operated business, now owned and operated by the same local family who owns and operates Lost Province Brewing Company. We now have an open position for a General Manager. We're looking for a positive person who's hospitable, outgoing, presents themselves well, and enjoys mingling with guests. Responsibilities of the Restaurant Manager at Coyote Kitchen include but are not limited to: Working to provide an experience of gracious hospitality to all guests. Ensuring the safety of all staff and guests. Working with the other Managers to implement, develop, & enforce existing systems, policies and standards related to food and alcohol service, food safety, facilities maintenance and food & beverage operations. Developing other managers and shift leads as leaders through training, continuing education opportunities and mentorship. Ensuring service and food quality are consistent while always striving to improve the quality of food, service and restaurant operations. Hiring, training, praising, disciplining, and firing of staff under supervision of General Manager. Assisting with management of food and labor costs. Facilitating communication between staff, management and ownership. Managing time efficiently Spending time working on the floor during busy times to support staff Ensure on-site events go smoothly, help large parties make reservations, work closely with others on the team to ensure community events go smoothy, facilitate communication between events team and kitchen to ensure kitchen is aware of all upcoming large parties or anything that may impact service out of the ordinary Bar management and inventory The General Manager is also involved in: Restaurant Operations, Policies and Procedures, FOH Operations, BOH Operations, Personnel, and Ordering/Inventory. Qualifications:
3-5 years of management experience; restaurant management preferred Undergraduate degree is highly preferred but not required Knowledge/familiarity of Boone, NC and surrounding area Please note: this position requires work on evenings, weekends and holidays. We're always closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Easter Sunday. This is a full time position and requires 40 hours of work per week. There may be some weeks where you need to work overtime, but we are committed to ensuring that our employees are given reasonable time off if they do have to go into overtime.
