This role involves greeting customers, managing seating arrangements, assisting with reservations, communicating wait times, and helping create a comfortable and welcoming dining experience. The ideal candidate is professional, attentive, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests with a friendly, professional, and courteous attitude. Greet customers as they arrive and assist with seating arrangements. Manage guest flow, waitlists, and reservation information as needed. Provide accurate wait-time estimates and communicate updates to guests. Escort guests to their tables and provide menus when appropriate. Answer basic questions about the restaurant, menu items, and dining experience. Communicate guest preferences, seating requests, and special needs to servers and management. Coordinate with front-of-house team members to maintain smooth restaurant service. Keep the host stand, entrance, and guest areas clean and organized. Assist with phone calls, reservation inquiries, and general customer requests. Maintain accurate seating charts and table-availability information. Help monitor guest flow during busy service periods. Support opening, closing, and other routine restaurant responsibilities. Follow restaurant service, safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures. Qualifications Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, or customer-service experience is helpful. Friendly, professional, and welcoming approach to guests. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, punctual, and responsible. Comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment. Good organizational and multitasking abilities. Able to remain calm and courteous during busy service periods. Strong attention to detail and guest-service standards. Willingness to learn restaurant procedures and reservation systems.
