  • Lot 63 Coffeehouse, Bakery, Pub, Wine Bar | Historic Old Salem Lot 63 is seeking an experienced, energetic and highly organized General Manager to lead our unique hospitality concept in the heart of historic Old Salem.
Lot 63 offers an all-day gathering place for locals, visitors and the Old Salem community. Our lower level, Lot 63 Underground, also serves as a distinctive venue for private events, celebrations, meetings and special programming. We're looking for a hands-on leader who can oversee the many moving pieces of the business while creating an exceptional experience for our guests and team. The ideal candidate enjoys being involved in day-to-day operations but also understands the business behind them — from staffing and inventory to events, sales, costs and financial organization. What You'll Do Operations & Guest Experience Oversee day-to-day operations across coffee, bakery, savory food, beer and wine service Maintain high standards for hospitality, cleanliness, product quality and presentation Be an active, visible leader during service while continuously improving systems and operations Team Leadership Hire, onboard, train and develop employees Build effective schedules, manage labor and establish clear expectations and accountability Foster a positive, professional workplace culture and provide ongoing coaching to the team Events & Lot 63 Underground Provide overall leadership and oversight for private events and special programming at Lot 63 Underground Oversee and support team members responsible for event coordination and execution Help develop opportunities to grow the venue while ensuring events reflect Lot 63's hospitality standards Business & Financial Management Monitor sales, labor, cost of goods and other key operating metrics Manage inventory, purchasing, invoices and vendor relationships Assist with bookkeeping and financial administration, working with ownership and accounting resources to maintain accurate financial information Identify opportunities to control costs, improve profitability and grow the business What We're Looking For 3+ years of management experience in a restaurant, café, bar, bakery, hospitality business or similar environment preferred Strong leadership, organizational, customer service and problem-solving skills Experience managing staffing, scheduling, inventory, purchasing and labor Working knowledge of business financials; bookkeeping, accounting or financial-management experience strongly preferred Comfort with POS, scheduling and other business-management systems A highly responsive and proactive communicator who is comfortable maintaining frequent communication with ownership Experience overseeing events or event operations is a plus Availability appropriate for a hospitality management role, including some evenings, weekends and special events as needed Most importantly, we're looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys hospitality, takes pride in developing a strong team and wants to help a growing local business succeed.
