Full-Time Position Overview We are looking for a motivated, hands-on General Manager to lead one of our Goodcents restaurant locations in Lincoln, Nebraska. The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the restaurant, including guest experience, team leadership, sales growth, food quality, cleanliness, labor management, inventory control, training, and profitability . We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their restaurant. The right person will be comfortable working alongside the team when needed while also developing employees, holding people accountable, managing costs, and continually looking for ways to improve the business. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the restaurant team.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain quality employees.
  • Build an effective management and hourly team.
  • Establish clear expectations and consistently hold employees accountable.
  • Provide regular coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Identify and develop future shift leaders and managers.
  • Create a positive, professional, team-oriented work environment.
  • Lead by example and demonstrate a willingness to work alongside the team. Guest Experience
  • Ensure every guest receives friendly, fast, and accurate service.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the restaurant during peak business periods.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and use feedback to improve operations.
  • Build relationships with regular guests and the surrounding community.
  • Maintain Goodcents standards for food quality, portioning, presentation, and service. Sales & Community Engagement
  • Take ownership of growing restaurant sales.
  • Execute company promotions and local-store marketing initiatives.
  • Look for opportunities to generate sales outside the four walls of the restaurant.
  • Build relationships with nearby businesses, schools, organizations, and community partners.
  • Support catering and office-lunch opportunities within the restaurant's market.
  • Engage the team in driving repeat business and increasing guest counts. Financial & Operational Management
  • Manage the restaurant with an understanding of sales, labor, food cost, and profitability.
  • Build and manage employee schedules based on projected sales and business needs.
  • Monitor labor throughout the week and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Manage inventory levels and minimize waste and unnecessary food costs.
  • Complete inventories accurately and on schedule.
  • Review restaurant performance and take corrective action when results are off target.
  • Protect company assets and follow cash-handling and financial-control procedures. Restaurant Standards & Cleanliness
  • Maintain a restaurant that is consistently clean, organized, and guest-ready.
  • Ensure both the front of house and back of house meet company cleanliness expectations.
  • Create a culture of "clean as you go" rather than relying solely on end-of-shift cleaning.
  • Ensure equipment, smallwares, storage areas, coolers, and workspaces are properly maintained and organized.
  • Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and health-department requirements. Training & Accountability
  • Ensure new employees receive thorough and consistent training.
  • Verify that employees understand expectations rather than simply completing training paperwork.
  • Conduct ongoing coaching and retraining when standards are not being met.
  • Address attendance, performance, behavior, and policy issues promptly and consistently.
  • Follow through on commitments and ensure assigned tasks are completed. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have:
  • Restaurant management or comparable leadership experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • The ability to coach employees while also holding them accountable.
  • A guest-first mentality.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience managing labor, inventory, food cost, and restaurant operations.
  • Comfort using restaurant technology and management systems.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions independently.
  • A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as business needs require.
  • A strong sense of ownership and personal accountability.
Restaurant management experience is preferred, but we are especially interested in candidates who demonstrate leadership ability, initiative, reliability, and a desire to grow. What Success Looks Like A successful
