Untill Filled Hudson is a big town with a small-town feel. Our comprehensive K-12 public school district is the heart of the community. Our schools are built on relationships - with each other, with students and with the community. The Hudson School District is seeking a long-term substitute Food Service Manager to work in the Food Service Department at Hills Garrison Elementary School. This is a full-time position with day-to-day responsibilities of the management of food service at the elementary school level. This position works 7.5 hour per day and is anticipated to last 60-90 school days. This position is not eligible for benefits.
Responsibilities include:
Monitors food production procedures daily. Trains employees and substitute workers on the use of computers, general kitchen equipment, tools, job tasks, sanitation, and safety information. Submits a list of foods and supplies needed to purchase, to the Food Service Administrative Assistant, on a weekly basis or as required. Practices sound ethical purchasing procedures for foods, dairy products, breads, and other items as deemed necessary based on current inventories and menu needs. Receives all foods and supplies when delivered, with precise accuracy. Keeps track of all suppliers' invoices and submits them daily to the Food Service Administrative Assistant for payment. Administers rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality so as not to breach any State or Federal Laws. (HIPPA, etc.)
Compensation:
Up to $20.00 per hour based upon experience.
Qualifications:
An Associate Degree or Vocational School Certificate in Food, Nutrition, Hospitality Management, or similar program. Be ServSafe certified. Minimum of three (3) years experience in School Food Service or a related field with a supervisory/management background preferred, as well as some knowledge of governmental regulations pertaining to school food service. Three (3) years of quantity food preparation experience with the knowledge and understanding of sanitation and safety in a kitchen. Must have means of transportation from site to SAU building.
