The ideal candidate has a background in fine dining, hospitality management, or upscale nightlife venues. As a Bar Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of bar management, including staff supervision, training, and maintaining high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily FOH (front of house) and bar operations Supervise, train, and motivate servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff Maintain high standards of customer service and hospitality Monitor inventory, ordering, and cost controls (beverage & food) Develop and implement service procedures, opening/closing protocols Coordinate with kitchen and back-of-house for seamless service delivery Manage reservations, events, VIP clientele, and guest relations Collaborate with ownership on promotions, marketing, and events Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations Responsibilities Supervise daily bar operations to ensure smooth service and adherence to quality standards. Train, mentor, and develop bar staff to enhance their skills and performance. Conduct interviews and participate in the hiring process for new bar team members. Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining cost control measures. Create and implement innovative drink menus that align with customer preferences. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the bar area. Foster a welcoming atmosphere for guests while addressing any concerns or feedback promptly. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service between the bar and dining areas.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a restaurant/bar management role (preferably upscale or high-volume) Proven leadership and team-building skills Strong knowledge of bar operations, mixology, and wine service Experience with POS systems (e.g., Touch Bistro,Toast, Square, or similar) Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Familiarity with NJ ABC liquor laws and ServSafe certification preferred Skills Proven experience in supervising staff within a hospitality or food service environment. Strong knowledge of beverage preparation, cocktail recipes, and bar equipment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience in training staff on best practices in customer service and operational procedures. Familiarity with food industry standards and regulations related to alcohol service. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
