Job Description
The goal of the Assistant General Manager is to orchestrate memorable and unique guest experiences by leading a team of well-trained, inspired, and passionate individuals. Duties include floor operations, scheduling, service standards, guest satisfaction, reservations, opening/closing, end of day reporting, inventory, waste recording, sanitation, safety, incident documenting and reporting, and other duties as assigned by the General Manager. This job description is intended to be a broad description of duties. You will be asked to carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Lead, supervise, and support front-of-house team members by assigning responsibilities, monitoring performance, coaching staff, and ensuring appropriate staffing and break schedules throughout each shift.
Assist the General Manager with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance management, and staff development while fostering a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
Maintain a visible presence throughout the restaurant by engaging with guests, anticipating needs, professionally resolving service issues, and cultivating the distinctive hospitality experience of The Bavarian.
Partner closely with Culinary leadership to ensure effective communication, coordinated service, consistent food quality, and timely execution throughout each service period.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of food menus, beer, wine, and resort offerings to support staff development and enhance the guest experience.
Oversee daily front-of-house administrative functions, including POS operations, timekeeping, tip reporting, reservations, and operating supply orders.
Monitor inventory, waste tracking, labor, financial reports, and operational performance while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, control costs, and enhance the overall guest experience.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, responsible alcohol service, and company policies while maintaining a clean, organized, and guest-ready restaurant.
Support the planning and execution of private events and special functions.
Demonstrate flexibility to support operational needs, including assisting in front-of-house positions when business demands require.
Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays. Other duties as assigned.
Ability to gracefully and humbly accept criticism and opportunities for growth.
Ability to stay positive, focused, and constructive when faced with setbacks, challenges, and while working in an ever-changing environment.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.). Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Qualifications/Knowledge:
Minimum 3 years' experience in high volume, high quality, casual fine dining leadership. Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management is preferred. Candidate must have New Mexico Food Handler & Alcohol Server Certifications upon hire. Proficiency building and maintaining FOH systems of operation.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.). Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
