Job Description

The Club The Cherry Valley Club (the "Club") is a family oriented, private membership, 110-year-old golf club with approximately 750 members. Garden City is in Central Nassau County, 20 miles east of New York City, on Long Island. Annual gross operating revenues exceed $10 million with the Food and Beverage operation accounting for approximately $3 million of those sales (the club has a very active member and private function program featuring approximately twenty private golf outings and/or weddings per year). Facilities include a first class 18 hole golf course (Devereux Emmet design), two practice ranges, six red clay tennis courts with a tennis pavilion, four platform tennis courts with a platform tennis facility, a main clubhouse featuring locker facilities, ballroom seating for up to 275 people, plus a grill and club dining room and bar accommodating another 200 people. The Club also features a patio bar with a pizza oven and grills and an adjacent snack bar, an outlet which gets busy during the summer months into fall. The golf course is open twelve months a year, the clubhouse ten months with most revenues generated during the golf and holiday seasons.
Catering Manager Reports to:
General Manager; Collaborates with Culinary Department Role Summary The Catering Manager is a key leadership role responsible for delivering exceptional member experiences through both private events and club programming. This position oversees all catering operations while curating a dynamic and engaging social calendar that reflects the traditions and evolving expectations of the membership. Success in this role requires a balance of operational discipline and creative vision. The ideal candidate is highly organized, service-driven, and passionate about hospitality, with the ability to execute seamless events while building strong relationships across the club. This role plays a critical part in shaping the overall member experience at Cherry Valley Club by creating memorable events, driving participation, and ensuring consistency in service and execution. Position Overview The Catering Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all private events at Cherry Valley Club. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree preferred 3-5 years experience in catering or event management Strong knowledge of private club operations Core Competencies Strong organizational and leadership skills Relationship-driven and member-focused Financial and operational awareness Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment Key Responsibilities Plan and execute all private and club events Manage BEOs, contracts, and logistics Collaborate with culinary and service teams Oversee event execution and service standards Lead programming and social calendar Manage budgets and financial performance Maintain member relationships and engagement Success in Role Consistent, high-quality event execution Increased member engagement Growth in catering revenue Strong team culture and leadership passionate team!
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
