Job Description
GRIN FOOD PANTRY MANAGER
Job Description Objective Overseeing the day to day operations for the GRIN Food Pantry. The candidate must be committed to serving the mission history and core values of Gahanna Residents in Need, as well as to serving those in need. Scope of Position- Report to the Program Director & interact with volunteers, clients, staff & donors
- Work 40 hours per week, wages based on experience.
- Evening and weekend hours required
- Work week is Tuesday through Saturday Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain safe, clean, healthy and efficient operation of the food pantry o Maintain quality and freshness of all food pantry items, organization o Record freezer and refrigerator temperatures Tuesday - Saturday o Building maintenance to include monthly furnace filter changes, monthly emergency light testing, semi-annual cooler/freezer filter, semi-annual smoke alarm batteries.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Pantry in compliance with
- Supervise and train volunteers in sorting, packing and food distributions events (excluding Special Events) o Work with special event coordinators as needed for food and inventory
- Manage food, toiletry, cleaning supply, diaper and feminine hygiene inventory in the pantry.
- Facilitate, maintain & support remote drop off locations - visit sites, communications
Attendance:
o Every Tuesday morning and evening for food pick-ups / deliveries and pantry o Every Wednesday morning for pantry, o Every Thursday morning for pantry deliveries / pick-ups o Every Saturday morning for pantry. Qualifications- High school diploma. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
- One to three year's experience in food distribution and/or inventory control.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License (ability and willingness to drive a GRIN box truck). Good driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to be on foot for extended periods of time.
- Prefer experience working/volunteering in a food pantry or non-profit organization
- Excellent organization, communication (ability to communicate and instruct persons of all ages, race, cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds)
- Pleasant helpful and compassionate attitude
- Sound record keeping skills.
- Ability to supervise others in a work environment.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to set priorities, effective time management
- Required experience in Google Docs/sheets
