Job Description
We are a busy family seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive Household Housekeeper/ Family Assistant to help keep our home running smoothly. With two active Teens, busy work schedules, and fall activities, we are looking for someone who can anticipate household needs, and takes ownership of day-to-day tasks. Our children (Teenage boys) will continue to be responsible for their age-appropriate household chores. We are looking for someone who can provide an extra set of hands and help us stay ahead of the everyday tasks that keep a household organized. Schedule Approximately 3-4 days per week , ideally around 15-20 hours per week , with flexibility in both days and hours.
Responsibilities:
Household Upkeep- Daily straightening and resetting of main living areas, including the kitchen, living room, loft, and laundry areas
- Light household cleaning such as vacuuming, dusting, wiping counters, and cleaning bathrooms on a rotating basis
- Maintaining an overall tidy, organized, and welcoming home
- Working around our existing biweekly professional cleaning service, which will continue to handle deeper cleaning Laundry
- Washing, drying, folding, and putting away household linens, primarily sheets and towels
- Changing bed linens as needed
- Keeping laundry and linen areas organized Meal Planning & Preparation
- Assist with planning simple family dinners
- Grocery shopping and/or grocery order pickup
- Prepare ingredients in advance, including washing and chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, and assembling meal components
- Prepare simple family meals, casseroles, or other dishes that can be refrigerated and easily cooked or reheated later
- Help keep the refrigerator and pantry organized and stocked with household staples Errands
- Grocery and Target/order pickups
- Returns and donation drop-offs
- Occasional household-related errands as needed Home Organization
- Help create and maintain practical organization systems throughout the home
- Tackle areas that need periodic organization, such as the mudroom, household desk, laundry area, and supply closets
- Identify items that need to be restocked, donated, relocated, or organized
- Help maintain systems once organizational projects are completed Ideal Candidate
- Highly organized and naturally tidy
- Proactive and able to recognize what needs attention without requiring constant direction
- Dependable, trustworthy, and discreet
- Comfortable working independently and shifting priorities as household needs change
- Comfortable preparing simple, family-friendly meals
- Experienced in household management, family assistance, housekeeping, hospitality, or a similar role
- Comfortable working in a family home with teens and able to provide strong professional references
