Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Assistant General Manager (AGM) to assist with the daily operation of our hotel. This position works closely with the General Manager to ensure excellent guest service, strong team performance, proper operational procedures, and Hilton brand standards are consistently maintained. Previous Hilton hotel experience is required for this position. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who understands that hotel management requires flexibility and teamwork. This is not strictly an office or administrative position. The AGM must be willing and able to step into operational roles when necessary, including covering employee callouts and assisting departments during high occupancy, staffing shortages, or other business needs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist the General Manager with the overall daily operation of the hotel. Maintain and enforce Hilton brand standards, hotel policies, and company procedures. Provide leadership and support to Front Desk, Housekeeping, Breakfast, Maintenance, and other hotel departments. Serve as Manager on Duty when required. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and development of employees. Assist with preparing employee schedules based on occupancy, business levels, and labor needs. Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, performance, and adherence to hotel policies. Address employee concerns and assist with coaching, corrective action, and performance documentation when necessary. Fill in for employee callouts and staffing shortages as operationally necessary. Be willing to work Front Desk shifts, assist with breakfast operations, help Housekeeping operations, and support other departments when needed. Assist the Front Desk with check-ins, checkouts, reservations, guest requests, billing questions, and problem resolution. Handle guest complaints professionally and work toward appropriate resolutions. Monitor guest satisfaction and assist with responding to guest feedback and reviews. Assist with room inventory, availability, rate management, group blocks, and reservations. Monitor daily arrivals, departures, special requests, VIPs, groups, and airline or corporate accounts as applicable. Review daily hotel reports and communicate important information to appropriate departments. Assist with cash handling procedures, deposits, payment processing, direct billing, and account reconciliation. Monitor labor costs and departmental productivity while maintaining appropriate service levels. Assist with accounts receivable, invoices, vendor communication, and other administrative responsibilities as assigned. Ensure Housekeeping standards are maintained and rooms are properly inspected and ready for sale. Conduct guest room and public-area inspections as needed. Coordinate with Maintenance regarding out-of-order rooms, preventative maintenance, repairs, and property concerns. Monitor hotel cleanliness, safety, security, and overall property condition. Assist with ordering and inventory of operational supplies. Help ensure breakfast operations meet Hilton brand and food-safety standards. Assist with group reservations, room blocks, corporate accounts, and sales opportunities when needed. Participate in Hilton training and ensure required team-member training is completed. Assist with maintaining employee records and required operational documentation. Respond appropriately to guest incidents, emergencies, safety concerns, and after-hours operational issues. Help create a positive, professional, accountable work environment. Communicate effectively with ownership/management, employees, guests, vendors, and business partners. Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or as required by hotel operations. Required Qualifications Previous Hilton hotel experience is required. Previous hotel supervisory or management experience required. Strong knowledge of hotel operations and guest-service standards. Experience with Hilton systems and procedures strongly preferred, including Hilton PEP . Ability to lead, coach, train, and hold employees accountable. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle difficult guest and employee situations professionally. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities. Basic understanding of hotel financials, labor management, scheduling, revenue, and operational reporting. Proficient with computers, email, and standard office applications. Must have reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on hotel needs. Scheduling & Availability Hotel operations are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The AGM must have schedule flexibility and understand that management coverage may occasionally be required outside of a traditional Monday-Friday schedule. This position requires the ability and willingness to cover employee callouts when necessary. This may include working Front Desk shifts, weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, or other shifts based on operational needs. The AGM is expected to be a hands-on leader who is willing to work alongside the team rather than simply supervise from an office. Compensation $50,000 annually What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the property, supports the team, communicates well, and understands the realities of hotel operations. The successful candidate will be proactive rather than reactive and will be comfortable making decisions, solving problems, assisting guests, supporting employees, and stepping into whatever area of the hotel needs attention. Applicants without previous Hilton hotel experience will not be considered.
