Job Description

The Service Manager leads the front-of-house team and helps ensure guests receive friendly, fast, and consistent service. This role is responsible for guest experience, team leadership, cash handling, front-of-house operations, cleanliness, and service standards. The Service Manager works closely with the General Manager and Kitchen Manager to support a safe, organized, and successful restaurant. What You'll Do Lead and support Servers, Cashiers, Bus Persons, Hosts, and other front-of-house team members. Provide friendly, professional, and consistent service to guests and lead the team by example. Monitor the dining room and front-of-house areas to make sure guests are welcomed, served, and cared for throughout their visit. Handle guest questions, concerns, and complaints with care and involve the General Manager when needed. Monitor service flow, guest wait times, table turnover, and staffing needs to help keep service running smoothly. Help maintain proper front-of-house staffing and adjust team assignments based on business needs. Train, coach, and provide feedback to front-of-house team members. Support hiring, onboarding, and development of front-of-house employees. Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate service expectations, promotions, menu updates, and other important information. Ensure employees follow Las Palapas standards for service, appearance, attendance, and conduct. Monitor cash handling, POS use, register procedures, deposits, and other financial controls according to company policy. Review cash or register differences and report or address concerns according to company procedures. Help prevent loss by following proper cash handling, security, and restaurant procedures. Keep the dining room, lobby, patio, restrooms, and other front-of-house areas clean, organized, and ready for guests. Work with the Kitchen Manager to maintain good communication between the front-of-house and kitchen teams. Help coordinate opening, closing, and shift transitions according to restaurant procedures. Monitor food safety, sanitation, and health requirements in front-of-house areas. Ensure team members follow workplace safety procedures and report accidents, injuries, hazards, or other concerns to the General Manager. Ensure required employee certifications are maintained according to company policy and applicable law. Follow Las Palapas standards for service, appearance, cleanliness, attendance, and leadership. Work as a team and help where needed during busy times. Perform all duties and responsibilities according to Las Palapas standards, training, and expectations, as well as reasonable direction from restaurant leadership. Perform other reasonable restaurant duties as assigned by the General Manager or other authorized Manager. Required Qualifications Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service leadership experience. Ability to lead, train, coach, and support a front-of-house team. Strong customer service and communication skills. TABC certification required in accordance with company policy and applicable Texas requirements, or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe. Texas Food Handler certification required in accordance with applicable Texas requirements. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to perform the main duties of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Previous Service Manager, Front-of-House Manager, Assistant Manager, or Restaurant Manager experience. Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant. Experience with restaurant scheduling, POS, cash handling, and financial controls. Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
