( Must be able to work Days, Nights & Weekends) Overview Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Operations Manager with a flexible schedule, where you'll play a vital role in optimizing our supply chain and logistics operations. This energetic position offers the opportunity to lead process improvements, oversee warehouse and transportation activities, and ensure seamless distribution management. You will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing inventory control, and supporting overall operations management to meet organizational goals. Duties Assist in overseeing daily warehouse operations, including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory management to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Support transportation planning and fleet management activities to optimize freight movement and reduce costs. Implement process management strategies such as Lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational workflows. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, AS400, and warehouse management systems (WMS) for data analysis, reporting, and decision-making. Supervise warehouse staff, including supervising experience in warehouse distribution, dispatching, forklift operation, and materials management. Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) partners to streamline supply chain processes. Assist in budgeting, procurement, purchasing, demand planning, production planning, and supply chain analytics to support business growth. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse supervision or operations management within a logistics or supply chain environment. Strong knowledge of supply chain management concepts including inventory control, distribution management, freight forwarding, and shipping & receiving. Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems such as
AS400, WMS
platforms, and supply chain analytics tools. Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies or continuous improvement frameworks. Experience with procurement processes, demand planning, production scheduling, and budget management. Skilled in supervising teams with excellent communication skills; supervisory experience is highly preferred. Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification; proficiency with warehouse equipment is a plus.
