POSITION SUMMARY
The shift manager oversees daily business operations, assigns tasks to team members, and addresses any issues that arise during their shift. Their responsibilities also include managing inventory, reconciling the cash register, and coordinating staff duties to enhance efficiency and customer service. This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, daytime, and evenings. Weekend and holiday availability is also expected.
POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate of Bachelor's degree in restaurant management preferred but not required.
  • Industry experience, preferably in a managerial position.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
  • Must be bilingual; English/Spanish; read, speak, and write fluently
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of previous restaurant experience
  • Previous experience working as a team lead in either a kitchen or cashier capacity, restaurant manager, or similar role.
  • Proven customer service experience, as well as doing all the work the employees are responsible for to be able to step in and work in the absence of employees.
  • Food and beverage knowledge, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software and POS systems.
  • Must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects while monitoring staff members.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for organizing shift schedules for team members.
  • Assigns team members with tasks to be completed each shift.
  • Resolves problems and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Supervises employees and assists with tasks as necessary.
  • Monitors attendance, punctuality, and time off.
  • Provides input for performance reviews and shares feedback with store supervisor.
  • Manages employees' requests such as vacation, leave of absence, and time off requests.
  • Coordinates training of new and current team members on tasks.
  • Handles customer issues and manages conflicts.
  • Adheres to company policies and health, safety, and employment standards.
  • Balances cash drawers and prepares cash deposits daily.

From $47,000.00 per year
