Immediate Job Summary The House Manager oversees the daily operations of a residential home serving youth with developmental disabilities. This role includes supervising staff, ensuring high-quality care, maintaining regulatory compliance, coordinating individualized programs, and creating a safe, supportive, and structured environment. Key Responsibilities Program & Facility Operations Oversee day-to-day home operations, safety practices, and maintenance needs. Implement and uphold policies and procedures aligned with licensing requirements. Ensure accurate documentation, logs, MARs, and incident reporting. Staff Management Recruit, train, supervise, and support staff. Manage schedules, performance, and ongoing professional development. Coach staff on PBSP, IISP, supervision expectations, and crisis prevention. Client Support Support development and implementation of individualized care plans. Coordinate educational, recreational, medical, and therapeutic activities. Maintain consistent communication with guardians, case managers, and providers. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure full compliance with state regulations (WAC 110-145, DDA standards). Prepare for audits, licensing visits, and internal quality checks. Lead crisis response and maintain emergency protocols. Administrative & Financial Support Assist in budget planning and monitor program expenditures. Track program needs and resource use; support funding or grant opportunities when applicable. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Human Services, or related field. Master's degree preferred but not required. Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in residential care. At least 1 year working directly with youth with developmental disabilities or behavioral support needs. Skills Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and organizational abilities. Knowledge of behavior support strategies preferred. Required Certifications & Documents Copy of degree/graduation certificate. Current First Aid/CPR (hands-on component required). Bloodborne Pathogens and Food Handlers certifications. Negative TB test (within the last year). Behavioral & Crisis Management training (Right Response, CPI, or PROACT preferred). Three professional references (phone + email). Personal Attributes Compassionate, patient, and youth-centered. Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented. Adaptable, calm under pressure, and able to support staff effectively.
