Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Manager to oversee our dietary services and ensure the delivery of high-quality nutrition and food safety standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing food service operations, leading dietary teams, and maintaining compliance with health regulations. This role requires a strong background in dietetics, nutrition, and food service management, along with proven leadership skills to coordinate daily activities within the dietary department. The Dietary Manager will play a key role in ensuring that all food service activities meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards while managing budgets effectively. Duties Manage daily food service operations, including planning, coordination, and supervision of dietary services. Lead and oversee food service teams to ensure efficient workflow and excellent resident care. Develop and implement menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and dietary needs. Ensure compliance with food safety management practices and adherence to local health codes. Maintain documentation related to food safety, sanitation, and regulatory inspections. Oversee inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing budgets for the dietary department. Monitor staff performance, provide training, and promote a positive team environment. Ensure all staff hold necessary certifications such as ServSafe certification and the municipality of Anchorage Food Handlers Card. Maintain current knowledge of dietetics principles, nutrition standards, and industry best practices. Collaborate with healthcare professionals or relevant departments to meet specific dietary requirements. Experience Prior experience in food service management within skilled nursing facilities, healthcare or similar settings is required. Demonstrated experience managing dietary departments or food service teams is essential. Knowledge of dietetics, nutrition principles, and food safety protocols is necessary. Proven ability to manage budgets effectively within a food service environment. Certification from the Board of Dietary Managers is required. Food safety management certification such as ServSafe is required. Valid municipality of Anchorage Food Handlers Card or equivalent certification is mandatory.
