Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dietary Manager, where you will lead and oversee all aspects of nutrition services within a long term care facility. This vital role combines management expertise with clinical nutrition knowledge to ensure residents receive high-quality, personalized dietary care. You will coordinate food service operations, supervise and schedule staff, and ensure compliance with health regulations while fostering a positive environment focused on resident well-being and satisfaction. Your leadership will directly impact the health and happiness of our residents by delivering nutritious, safe, and appealing meals tailored to their individual needs. Responsibilities Manage daily food service operations, including menu planning, food production, and ensuring timely meal delivery Supervise and lead dietary staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations Conduct patient assessments to develop personalized care plans that incorporate nutritional needs and preferences Oversee food safety management practices in compliance with health codes and regulatory policies Coordinate with clinical teams to integrate nutrition strategies into overall care plans and monitor patient progress through health record systems Ensure proper management of budgets, inventory control through daily audits and security systems, and food cost analysis to optimize resources effectively Supervise tube feeding procedures, diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition, and acute care dietary interventions when necessary Requirements Proven experience in assisted living or long-term care facilities with a strong background in dietary management Knowledge of health regulation policies related to food service health code compliance and safety standards Demonstrated ability in managing food service teams, supervising staff, and leading department operations efficiently Expertise in clinical nutrition, physiology, dietetics, and developing care plans tailored to individual health conditions Familiarity with systems for managing health records related to nutrition and care documentation Strong leadership skills combined with excellent communication abilities for team management and health coaching Experience in budget management, food production processes, and food safety management practices CDM or equivalent preferred but not required at hire Embark on a rewarding career where your leadership directly enhances the quality of life for residents through exceptional nutritional care.
