This is a department leadership position responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, nutritional compliance, staffing, food safety, inventory, and budget management. The ideal candidate has previous dietary management experience within a skilled nursing or long-term care environment and is committed to providing residents with high-quality meals that meet both their clinical and individual needs.

Facility Administrator Essential Duties & Responsibilities Department Leadership:
Direct day-to-day dietary and food service operations while maintaining compliance with applicable Title 22, CMS, and local health department regulations
Clinical & Nutritional Coordination:
Complete resident dietary assessments and ensure compliance with physician-ordered therapeutic diets and modified textures
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and coordinate with nursing and other clinical departments regarding residents' nutritional needs
Staff Management:
Recruit, hire, schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate dietary aides, cooks, dishwashers, and other dietary personnel
Training & Quality:
Conduct regular staff in-services, competency training, and quality-control checks
Budget Management:
Manage departmental food, supply, and equipment purchasing while monitoring expenditures
Inventory Control:
Conduct routine inventory counts and maintain accurate purchasing and expenditure records
Food Safety & Sanitation:
Maintain rigorous kitchen sanitation, food safety, and infection-control standards, including HACCP and ServSafe practices
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure the dietary department remains prepared for applicable surveys and regulatory requirements
Hands-On Support:
Assist with cooking, tray line operations, dishwashing, or other dietary functions when necessary for staff training or operational coverage Qualifications & Requirements CDM Certification -
REQUIRED:
Active Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential. SNF / Long-Term Care Experience -
REQUIRED:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dietary Director or Dietary Manager within a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or long-term care environment .
Food Safety Certification:
Current ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or higher in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Nutrition, or a related field preferred.
Language:
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
