Full-Time | On-site | 2nd shift Position Summary The Packaging Lead is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Packaging Department by leading employees, coordinating workflow, maintaining product quality and food safety standards, and ensuring production goals are met safely and efficiently. The Packaging Lead serves as a working lead and provides direction and support to Packaging employees while working closely with Supervisors, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate daily packaging activities according to the production schedule. Ensure employees are assigned to appropriate workstations and understand their responsibilities. Monitor production lines to ensure products are packaged accurately, efficiently, and according to specifications. Assist with line start-ups, changeovers, shutdowns, and product transitions. Monitor production rates and communicate delays, downtime, or production issues to the Supervisor. Ensure packaging materials are available and properly staged. Verify correct labels, packaging materials, codes, and product information are being used. Assist employees with equipment operation and basic troubleshooting. Help maintain an organized, clean, and efficient production area. Follow and enforce company food safety, GMP, HACCP, and sanitation procedures. Ensure employees follow proper handwashing, PPE, hygiene, and allergen-control requirements. Monitor packaging activities for product quality and compliance with specifications. Immediately report quality, food safety, contamination, allergen, or labeling concerns to QA and/or the Supervisor. Ensure proper product identification, lot codes, dates, and traceability procedures are followed. Assist with quality checks and required production documentation. Review and communicate important information during shift handoffs.
Qualifications Required:
1 year experience in food manufacturing, packaging, production, or a similar manufacturing environment. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and supervisors. Ability to read and follow production instructions, procedures, and safety requirements. Basic math and documentation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and product quality. Use tablets, computers, or other production systems as required to document production activities. Preferred Experience leading a packaging or production team. Experience with food safety, GMPs, HACCP, and sanitation requirements. Experience with packaging equipment and production line operations.
Pay:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
