This role works closely with the General Manager and Head Shift Lead to support daily operations, guide the team during busy shifts, and help create the positive, community-driven vibe Board & Brew is known for. Whether you're helping organize positions, supporting the team during a rush, or jumping in to assist guests, Shift Leads are hands-on leaders who lead through example. Core Responsibilities Support the General Manager and Head Shift Lead with daily restaurant operations Help organize team positions, breaks, and shift flow throughout the day Assist with training new cashiers and expos Support the team during busy shifts and help maintain smooth operations Communicate clearly and effectively with team members across all positions Help resolve guest concerns with professionalism and positivity Perform kitchen walkthroughs including food quality checks, taste tests, temperature checks, and prep accuracy Deliver food quickly, accurately, and in a clean, presentable manner Assist with cash handling, daily numbers, and bank deposits as needed Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards throughout the restaurant Complete assigned side work and operational tasks Step in wherever needed to support guests, teammates, and restaurant operations Qualifications Required Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to support team members and maintain service standards. Ability to remain organized, adaptable, and efficient in a fast-paced environment. Reliable attendance, punctuality, and flexibility to meet scheduling needs. Ability to lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and commitment to team success. Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Preferred Six months or more of leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent guest service and creating positive guest experiences. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain service quality during busy shifts. Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures preferred. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing, walking, bending, and moving continuously throughout scheduled shifts; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; use hands and arms for serving, cleaning, and operating equipment; and work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Must be able to read menus, safety materials, and POS screens. Work Schedule / Travel Requirements Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Occasional local or regional travel may be required for training and development opportunities.
