This role focuses on executing operational excellence by running effective shifts, coaching Team Members, resolving guest concerns, and supporting the development of the restaurant through leadership of assigned TAG Teams. Shift Coordinators are trusted to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient operation while modeling Chick-fil-A's values and culture. They lead by example, communicate with confidence, and provide real-time coaching to ensure operational standards are consistently met. This role serves as the primary development position for future Team Leads and Assistant Directors by building strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. While Shift Coordinators primarily focus on execution during their shifts, they are expected to collaborate closely with Team Leads and Assistant Directors to support restaurant goals and create a positive work environment. Key Responsibilities Vision and Purpose Alignment Embody and communicate the Enterprise's Vision, Corporate Purpose, and Values through daily leadership. Model Chick-fil-A's culture by demonstrating ownership, humility, integrity, professionalism, positivity, teamwork, and servant leadership. Lead by example and set the standard for attitude, effort, and operational excellence. Foster an environment where Team Members feel supported, encouraged, and challenged to grow. Customer Experience Lead assigned shifts to ensure outstanding hospitality, food quality, and operational execution. Serve as the primary point of contact for guest concerns, complaints, and recovery opportunities during the shift. Resolve guest issues with professionalism while creating memorable recovery experiences. Monitor restaurant operations to ensure speed of service, order accuracy, cleanliness, and food quality standards are achieved. Coordinate communication between Front of House and Back of House to maintain smooth operations. Make real-time operational decisions to protect the guest experience. Support Winning Hearts Every Day initiatives through consistent execution. Sales and Brand Growth Execute Chick-fil-A brand standards consistently. Support Limited Time Offer (LTO) rollouts and promotional initiatives. Encourage order accuracy, hospitality, and efficient service to improve guest satisfaction and restaurant performance. Help maximize throughput during peak business periods through strong shift execution. Successfully open, operate, or close the restaurant according to established procedures. Direct Team Members throughout the shift by assigning positions, communicating priorities, and adjusting deployment as business needs change. Monitor restaurant flow and proactively respond to bottlenecks. Ensure operational checklists, food safety procedures, and cleanliness standards are completed. Maintain awareness of overall restaurant performance throughout the shift. Financial Stewardship Follow established procedures that minimize food waste and labor inefficiencies. Protect company assets through proper handling of food, equipment, and supplies. Make responsible operational decisions that balance guest experience with efficiency. Leadership Lead Team Members through positive influence, encouragement, and accountability. Conduct in-the-moment coaching conversations that reinforce expectations and recognize great performance. Hold respectful, documented coaching conversations when performance or behavior requires correction. Build trust through consistent communication and servant leadership. Maintain professionalism while addressing conflict and difficult situations. Support shift communication by ensuring Team Members understand daily priorities and expectations. Partner effectively with Team Leads and Directors to ensure successful shift execution. Talent Support onboarding and integration of new Team Members. Assist with training and coaching Team Members on operational procedures and Chick-fil-A standards. Encourage continuous learning and personal growth among Team Members. Recognize individual successes and celebrate team accomplishments. Identify Team Members demonstrating leadership potential and communicate observations to leadership. Required Skills and Experience Successful completion of the Talent Coach role for a minimum of 3 months. Demonstrated leadership potential and a positive influence among peers. Strong understanding of Chick-fil-A operational standards. Ability to confidently lead Team Members during busy shifts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to coach others with both encouragement and accountability. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure. Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence. Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Desire to continuously learn and prepare for future leadership opportunities. Additional Qualifications Ability to work 25+ hours per week. Positive, growth-oriented mindset. Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand for up to 8.5 hours and lift up to 50 pounds. Reliable transportation.
