Job Description
Baja Cantina is seeking an experienced Lead Line Cook to help lead our kitchen team in a high-volume, fast-paced Mexican restaurant. This role is responsible for maintaining food quality, supporting daily kitchen operations, training team members, and ensuring every plate meets our standards.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys cooking while helping organize and motivate a team.
ResponsibilitiesLead daily line operations during lunch and dinner servicePrepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standardsAssist with opening and closing kitchen proceduresSupport inventory counts and orderingEnsure prep lists are completed accurately and on timeTrain and mentor line cooks and prep cooksMaintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standardsCommunicate equipment issues, product shortages, and operational needs to managementHelp maintain ticket times during busy serviceFoster a positive, team-oriented kitchen cultureQualifications3+ years of high-volume line cook experiencePrevious leadership or lead line cook experience preferredStrong grill, saut , fryer, and expo experienceKnowledge of food safety and sanitation practicesAbility to work nights, weekends, and holidaysStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periodsWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who:
