Overview Join our dynamic team as a Kitchen Manager / Dietary Manager, where you will lead and oversee all aspects of food service operations within a Skilled Nursing facility. You will be responsible for managing food production, supervising dietary staff, and coordinating with healthcare teams to develop personalized care plans that promote residents' health and well-being. Duties Lead and manage the dietary department, including supervising food service teams to ensure efficient daily operations. Develop, implement, and monitor menus that meet nutritional guidelines and accommodate special dietary needs such as tube feeding or clinical nutrition requirements. Oversee food production processes, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with all health codes and regulations. Conduct patient assessments related to nutrition and care plans, collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize individual dietary needs. Manage budgets for the dietary department, including purchasing supplies, controlling costs, and maintaining inventory levels. Ensure all food service activities adhere to food safety management practices and health regulation policies. Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems for documenting care plans, dietary modifications, and patient progress. Train and supervise staff on food safety procedures, EMR/EHR documentation, and best practices in food service management. Coordinate with healthcare teams to evaluate diagnostic results and adjust nutrition plans accordingly. Maintain compliance with acute care standards and support health coaching initiatives aimed at improving residents' overall wellness. Skills Proven experience in assisted living or healthcare food service management with supervising teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of health regulation policies, food safety management, and food service health code compliance. Expertise in patient assessment techniques related to nutrition, including tube feeding protocols and clinical nutrition strategies. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records related to dietetics and care plans. Excellent management skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment. Deep understanding of physiology as it relates to nutrition needs across diverse patient populations. Budgeting experience within a dietary or food service department to control costs without compromising quality. Knowledge of dietetics principles combined with leadership capabilities to oversee food production processes efficiently.
