Job Description

The Nest of Ojai is looking for an experienced Front of House Lead to join our team. We're looking for someone who is confident leading a team, thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment, and takes pride in creating an exceptional experience for both guests and employees. This is a hands-on leadership position . Our Leads work alongside the team and jump into a variety of Front of House positions throughout the shift. What You'll Do Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and ensure smooth, efficient service Lead, support, and hold employees accountable to company standards and expectations Enforce company policies, including meal/rest breaks, uniforms, attendance, and workplace procedures Create and manage employee schedules based on business needs Order and maintain inventory of Front of House dry goods, bar supplies, beer, wine, and liquor Ensure compliance with
OSHA, ABC
regulations, California labor laws, and company policies Monitor service standards, cleanliness, organization, and overall restaurant presentation Address employee and guest concerns professionally and effectively Communicate operational updates, employee performance, and areas of concern to the General Manager Provide regular performance and operational reporting to the General Manager Help train and develop employees while setting a positive example for the team A Working Lead Our Leads are an active part of the Front of House team which allows them to be part of the tip pool. Depending on the needs of the business, you may work as a: Cashier Bartender Expo Busser What We're Looking For Previous restaurant experience required Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to confidently manage and motivate a team Comfortable giving direction and holding employees accountable Knowledge of restaurant operations, food & beverage service, and California labor requirements Reliable, professional, and able to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment Must be available to work weekends and holidays Ability to remain calm, organized, and solution-oriented during busy service The ideal candidate is someone who leads by example , cares about the details, and understands that great leadership means being willing to work alongside your team. You should be comfortable balancing guest service, employee management, and the day-to-day demands of running a busy restaurant.
