Food Handler Certification Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Executive Steward responsibilities include managing the cleanliness of all kitchen and food preparation areas. This position is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, controlling and directing the work of Team Members in stewarding department. This role is also responsible for inventory control of chemicals, utensils, supplies for dish rooms, etc. Executive Steward also coordinates internal health inspections and manages food safety protocols as instructed by the Vice President of Culinary Operations.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values. 2. Oversee daily stewarding operations, manage all aspects of the stewarding department, ensuring proper execution of cleaning assignments, team coordination, and internal service efficiency. 3. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas. Supervise and train Team Members by directing, mentoring, and supporting stewarding staff. 4. Prepare and distribute assignments to the Kitchen Workers & Kitchen Stewards while reviewing priorities and ensuring work safety and health standards are met. 5. Maintain inventory levels of cleaning chemicals, utensils and various other supplies. 6. Facilitate communication and team engagement by leading daily huddles, updating communication boards, and ensuring all Team Members are informed of operational updates. 7. Enforce company policies, procedures, and service standards while fostering a positive and productive work environment. Provide regular feedback, coaching, and corrective action to ensure fair and consistent performance management. 8. Maintain accurate records by overseeing attendance tracking, payroll accuracy, and coaching documentation, as well as all required safety documents.
Required Qualifications:
1. Minimum of three (3) years of Food & Beverage or Sanitation/ Food Safety Supervisory experience. 2. High School Diploma or equivalent required. 3. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form. 4. Strong ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision. 5. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, graveyard, weekends, and holidays as needed. 6. Demonstrates maturity, sound judgment, and the ability to make effective decisions, even in highpressure or challenging situations. 7. Must be able to obtain a gaming license from the Graton Gaming Commission during the preemployment hiring process. Must possess or obtain a California Food Handler Certification. 8. Bilingual, Spanish speaker preferred.
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. 2. Requires the physical ability to stand for long periods of time, walk frequently, bend, twist, or reach a height of six feet with or without assistance. 3. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds, push 150-250 pounds on a pushcart, in/out of walk-ins of -10 degrees to 140 degrees with or without assistance. 4. Requires manual dexterity to operate and use job related equipment.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain second hand smoke. Work may be performed in small areas with a 3 ft. wide access. Tasks performed from a sitting or nonsitting position. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling and grasping. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned area. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests.

$80,000 Annually
