ABOUT SUMMERFIELD TEA BAR
Our Mission is to create a welcoming space where people can build real connection and community, one sip, one bite at a time. A world where every community has a place to socialize. Where strangers become friends, and every moment is a reason to stay. Not the biggest. Not the loudest. But a space built on a vision shaped by culture, community, and the belief that a sip can bring people together.
THE ROLE
The Shift Lead is the bridge between the team and management — the person who owns the floor while the shift is running. This role exists because a great store needs someone setting the pace, protecting the standard, and coaching in the moment, shift after shift. You're an experienced, certified barista learning to lead: delegating stations, keeping quality tight through the rush, resolving guest concerns with confidence, and making sure the store opens and closes exactly the way it should. When you run a shift well, guests feel it, the team learns from it, and the whole store gets stronger — and you're building the leadership skills every management role is founded on.
WHERE THIS LEADS
Shift Lead is where leadership begins. Here's what each stage develops, and how far it can go: Barista Master hospitality, craftsmanship, consistency, teamwork, and the guest experience. ↓ Shift Lead ← you are here Learn to coach, communicate, hold accountability, and lead others well. ↓ Assistant Manager Learn business operations, scheduling, hiring, inventory, and financial responsibility. ↓ Store Manager Run an entire business — develop leaders, own financial performance, and build a strong culture. ↓ Regional Leadership Support multiple locations, coach leaders, improve systems, and help shape company growth. ↓ Future Franchise Ownership For exceptional leaders, the potential to operate and grow their own Summerfield business as we expand. We promote from within whenever we can. Advancement here is earned through mastery and certification — and every stage builds real leadership, financial know-how, and long-term opportunity, not just a new title.
