Job Description

Overview The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the cafe, ensuring exceptional hospitality, food quality, team development, operational excellence, and compliance with company policies. This role oversees staffing, training, inventory management, workplace safety, maintenance, cash handling, and product quality while driving a positive and productive team culture. Responsibilities Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, coach, discipline, and terminate employees as needed. Create, manage, and publish employee schedules. Oversee training and development of all team members. Ensure employees demonstrate thorough knowledge of bakery products, beverages, and menu offerings. Administer bi-weekly payroll for 30+ employees (FOH & BOH) Manage tip pool for all non-exempt employees Cultivate a positive, professional, and accountable work environment. Operations & Quality Control Maintain the highest standards for food, beverage, and hospitality quality. Ensure proper product rotation and FIFO (First In, First Out) practices. Oversee daily cookie production and ordering requirements. Submit weekly par orders for pastries, desserts, breads, and other bakery products. Monitor inventory levels and minimize waste. Facilities & Equipment Coordinate preventative maintenance and repair of bakery equipment and facilities. Safety & Compliance Administer and maintain the Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). Handle Workers' Compensation reporting, documentation, and claim coordination. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, labor, and food handling regulations. Maintain a safe and clean workplace for employees and guests. Valid Manager Food Handler certification Financial Responsibility Oversee daily cash handling procedures and bank deposits. Monitor labor and operational costs. Ensure accurate completion of operational reports and documentation. Cultivate and instill in all FOH a culture of upselling. Qualifications 3+ years of restaurant, bakery, café, or hospitality management experience. Proven experience in hiring, training, employee development, and performance management. Proven experience with Toast POS system. Strong understanding of food safety, inventory management, and quality control. Experience with scheduling software, and operational reporting. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Excellent communication skills in managing managerial conversations and employee orientation. Proficiency in POS systems, inventory control software, bookkeeping, and basic math for daily operations.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
