Requirements /
Qualifications Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of experience cooking and baking from scratch, menu planning, food procurement or similar experiences, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
  • One year of Supervisory level experience in a large-scale food service production kitchen
Requirements:
  • Valid Serv-Safe Manager Certificate or equivalent
  • Valid California Class C Driver's License
  • DMV Printout with driving record within the last 3 months
  • Responsible for maintaining annual job specific education/training that comply with the USDA mandated
School Nutrition Professional Standards Four Key Areas:
Nutrition, Operations, Administration, and Communications/Marketing.
  • Completion of Civils Rights in Food Service, Integrated Pest Management, Mandated Reporter, Sexual Harassment, and Workplace Violence training All requirements must be provided at the time of application DMV Printout (Within the last 3 months) Food Handler's Certificate (Manager) Letter of Introduction (Please describe your experience working in food services) Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three (3) within the last year) NCLB Compliance (Bachelor degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent from an accredited college or university) Resume Comments and Other Information The East Whittier City School District provides educational opportunities (transitional kindergarten through eighth grade, including special education) for approximately 9,000 children.
The District employs approximately 1,075 teachers, administrators and support staff. We have 13 schools which operate on a traditional school year schedule.
