Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Dining Service Director to lead and elevate our food service operations within a vibrant assisted living environment. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of dietary management, ensuring exceptional meal quality, compliance with health regulations, and fostering a positive dining experience for residents. Duties Lead and manage the entire food service department, including supervising staff, managing schedules, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Develop and implement nutritious, appealing menus aligned with dietary needs, clinical nutrition standards, and regulatory guidelines. Oversee food production processes to ensure high-quality meal preparation, presentation, and safety standards are consistently met. Ensure compliance with all health regulation policies, including food safety management and food service health code adherence. Conduct patient assessments related to dietary needs, create personalized care plans, and coordinate with healthcare teams for optimal nutrition support. Manage budgets effectively by controlling costs related to food procurement, staffing, and equipment while maintaining quality standards. Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to document dietary plans, patient progress, and compliance reports accurately. Monitor food service operations in acute care settings or assisted living environments to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional resident satisfaction. Implement training programs for staff on food safety management, nutrition principles, and health coaching techniques to promote professional growth. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans that incorporate nutritional strategies tailored to individual needs. Experience Proven management experience within food service operations in assisted living or healthcare settings. Strong background in dietary department management with knowledge of health regulation policies and food safety standards. Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively while managing budgets and operational workflows. Experience in clinical nutrition or dietetics with a focus on patient assessment and care plan development. Certified Dietary Manager Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documenting nutritional information and care activities. Knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition, tube feeding procedures, diagnostic evaluation processes, and acute care protocols. Assisted living experience is highly preferred, along with expertise in managing food production in complex healthcare environments. Excellent leadership skills complemented by strong communication abilities to motivate staff and engage residents positively.
