Job Description
Florida DePac - Dover, FL Florida DePac is seeking a dependable, hands-on Site Operations Supervisor to oversee daily food waste depackaging operations at our Dover facility. This is an outdoor, hands-on position in a food waste processing environment. Applicants must be comfortable working outside in Florida weather and in conditions that can be dirty, wet, messy, and at times have strong odors. This is not a desk or office position. The Site Operations Supervisor will supervise day labor crews, coordinate incoming materials, maintain productivity, and help ensure a safe, clean, and efficient operation. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Florida DePac specializes in food waste depackaging and organic recovery, helping divert expired, recalled, damaged, and unsellable food products from landfills and into beneficial recovery streams. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct day labor crews performing manual food waste depackaging
- Assign daily tasks and clearly communicate job expectations
- Monitor productivity and keep depackaging projects on schedule
- Coordinate unloading, staging, sorting, and processing of incoming materials
- Track pallets, loads, material volumes, labor hours, and daily production
- Ensure food products are properly separated from cardboard, plastic, glass, metal, and other packaging
- Maintain clean and organized work and processing areas
- Enforce company safety procedures and proper use of required PPE
- Provide basic safety and job-task instruction to new day laborers
- Identify operational issues and communicate needs to management
- Coordinate with drivers, vendors, customers, and management as needed
- Work alongside the crew when necessary to keep projects moving
- Oversee end-of-shift cleanup and ensure the facility is prepared for the next workday Qualifications
- Previous supervisory, warehouse, production, waste/recycling, landscaping, construction, or similar hands-on operations experience preferred
- Experience supervising temporary or day labor employees is a plus
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Dependable, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of daily operations
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, humidity, rain, dirt, food waste, liquids, and strong odors
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and move materials
- Basic ability to track production, labor hours, and operational information
- Forklift experience preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred What We're Looking For We need someone willing to lead from the floor and work alongside the crew when needed , not simply supervise from the sidelines.
