Job Description

Summary:

The Shift Supervisor will report to the Production Manager with responsibility for team members and should have experience supporting a bakery production operation. This positition will be responsible for achieving company quality and efficiency goals, leading the team, providing coaching, training, and managing team member relations. Key Responsibilities and Duties /

Essential Functions:

Supervise the work activities, training, and development of the other leaders and Team Members on the shift. Responsible for performance management and disciplinary actions Responsible for selection of appropriate candidates and for termination when necessary.

• Responsible for creating and maintaining a culture of collaboration, accountability and empowerment to drive Employee Retention. Ensure good communication and relationships with team members and other production leadership.

• Help facilitate/train Huddle meetings coordinators and training of skilled positions. Meet the company set standard of quality, yield and time. Expected to spend the majority (80%) of the time directly on the production floor (a hands on supervisor) coaching and empowering the team members to solve problems. Develop and implement ideas to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Encourage and provide ideas for continual improvement within the operation. Recommend and assist in implementing operating procedures. This can consist of troubleshooting problems, making production decisions based on multiple factors (labor, ingredients, mechanical). Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area by following GMPs, Team Member Safety and Food Defense Policies. Maintain a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place. Work with a cross functional team (scheduling, sales, plant manager) to ensure that customers receive complete and on time shipments. Maintains daily paperwork to ensure accuracy and timely completion.

Supervisory responsibilities:

Direct reports include front line production team members.

Work environment:

This position operates in a factory floor environment with heavy machinery. Potential exposure to flour dust in mixing areas. Respiratory protection is available on a voluntary basis. Potential exposure to environments and areas with elevated temperatures (working around oven equipment).

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to remain in one place for long periods of time, move from one place to another, position oneself to demonstrate machines, communicate with others and exchange information; and may occasionally lift or move machine parts or items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Expected Hours of Work:

Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Saturday with some Sunday work required, or as necessary to achieve the production targets. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

Qualifications and Skills:

Strong Leadership skills and previous experience leading a manufacturing team. Results Driven Communicates effectively at all levels of the organization. HACCP Training Microsoft Office Skills (Word and proficient in Excel) Knowledge of Adage is a plus Follow Good Manufacturing Practices Follow all Epi safety requirements and follows standard safety practices. Must be fluent in English and ability to speak and write Spanish is a definite plus.

Quality Knowledge:

fully knowledgeable of the quality specifications of Epi's products as dictated by the customer and the company.

Packaging Knowledge:

fully knowledgeable of all product packaging specifications and equipment.

Product Knowledge:

fully knowledgeable of all products produced by Epi and the equipment.

Team Player:

supports decisions/processes/procedures implemented by management; develops a team work environment within his/her shift.

Leadership:

invites full participation and collaboration from team; provides input, feedback, and coaching to his/her employees. Encourages team to use available data to respond quickly to issues and make effective decisions.

Education and Experience:

• High School/GED, bachelor's degree
