20 to 29 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
About the Role At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. In this role, you'll oversee beneficiaries in the kitchen while managing inventory, menus, ordering, and canteen operations. This position is crucial in maintaining efficient kitchen operations while supporting our rehabilitation program. What You'll Do Supervision & Training Train beneficiaries on Kitchen Safety and Compliance protocols Supervise daily work therapy performance, including cooking and cleaning Provide regular feedback and direction to beneficiaries Ensure compliance with Health Department policies Menu & Inventory Management Create and update menus using Cycle Menu Management System Maximize use of donated goods Maintain kitchen and canteen inventories Generate timely orders based on stock, cost, and needs Source and coordinate food donations Operations Management Monitor canteen sales and card tracking Maintain kitchen log communications Execute Health Department policies Prepare for regular inspections Coordinate with Kitchen Supervisor on all operations Why Join Us Mission-driven work that supports programs in your community On-the-job training Team-oriented environment Employee Discount, Employee Assistance Program, and more! What You Need Required Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required ServSafe and Allergen training certifications required Kitchen management experience preferred Skills & Abilities Supervisory skills (oversee and train, not work alongside) Computer proficiency for inventory and communications Strong mathematical abilities for measurements and portions Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Excellent organizational skills Physical Requirements Regular standing and walking Lifting up to 15 pounds regularly Occasional lifting up to 100 pounds Manual dexterity for food preparation Work Environment Kitchen setting (warm and humid) Moderate to loud noise levels Fast-paced environment Regular interaction with beneficiaries The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.
