Job Description
Job Overview The Palms Theatres & IMAX is looking for an energetic, dependable, and hands-on assistant manager to join our leadership team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, leading a team, solving problems, and creating a great experience for both our guests and employees. The assistant managers are actively involved in daily operations and help ensure the building is prepared, properly staffed, clean, organized, and ready to provide excellent service. Duties Lead and support employees throughout daily theatre operations while promoting exceptional guest service. Coach, train, and develop team members to ensure company standards, policies, and service expectations are consistently met. Direct daily staffing by assigning workstations, adjusting coverage, managing breaks, and reallocating employees based on business needs. Prepare the theatre for peak business by ensuring all areas are staffed, stocked, clean, safe, and ready for guests. Resolve guest concerns and operational challenges with professionalism, including guest recovery, technical issues, and emergency situations. Perform opening and closing responsibilities, including financial procedures, operational checklists, and building security. Monitor building conditions, theatre equipment, and operational systems, performing basic troubleshooting and communicating maintenance or technical concerns as needed. Partner with theatre leadership to maintain efficient operations, support labor goals, and foster a positive, productive work environment. Experience Previous leadership, supervisory, customer service, hospitality, restaurant, retail, or entertainment experience preferred Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to lead and coach employees in a respectful and professional manner Comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility during a shift Able to remain calm and organized in a busy environment Willingness to learn multiple departments and understand all areas of theatre operations Strong attention to guest service, cleanliness, safety, and operational standards Dependable attendance and reliable availability Ability to work independently while also working closely with the leadership team Comfortable learning theatre technology, projection systems, and basic equipment troubleshooting If you enjoy movies, hospitality, working with people, and being part of a fast-paced team environment, this is the perfect position for you!
