Job Description
Job Summary Taco Tico is seeking a dependable, full-time Shift Lead to help oversee the daily operations of the restaurant. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll lead by example, supervise employees, train team members, open and close the restaurant, handle cash procedures, and ensure every guest receives excellent service. Shift Leads work alongside the crew and spend the majority of their shift preparing food, taking customer orders, cleaning, and supporting the team while providing direction and leadership. We're looking for someone with open availability, reliable transportation, a strong work ethic, and a desire to grow into a larger leadership role within the company. Responsibilities Lead and supervise employees during assigned shifts. Open and/or close the restaurant. Train and coach crew members. Ensure excellent customer service and food quality. Assign tasks and maintain productivity throughout the shift. Handle guest concerns professionally. Complete cash handling procedures, including register counts, deposits, and bank runs when needed. Complete nightly inventory and required shift paperwork. Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and Taco Tico operating standards. When staffing issues arise, make reasonable efforts to contact available employees to help cover open shifts and communicate staffing concerns to management. Communicate effectively with the General Manager and Assistant Manager regarding operational issues. Skills Leadership and team-building skills Excellent customer service and communication skills Previous experience in quick-service or casual dining preferred Cash handling and POS system experience Ability to train and coach employees Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities Dependable with a strong work ethic Ability to take initiative and lead by example Reliable transportation Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
