Job Description

Food Service Director is to oversee the food service operation in a correctional facility. Ensure all meals are prepared in compliance with nutritional standards, safety regulations, and facility policies. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to work within a structured environment. Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities Must Be able to Work Weekends, and Some Holidays. Oversee the daily operations of the food service department, including meal preparation, serving and sanitation. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations and correctional guidelines. Supervise and train kitchen staff and inmate workers, ensuring adherence to proper food handling and sanitation protocols. Maintain accurate records of food service operations, including meal counts, supply usage and compliance reports. Manage food inventory, procurement of goods weekly. Follow all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling and storage. Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates. This role includes physical demands such as lifting 50 lbs, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time. Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift. Perform other related duties as assigned. Ability to work in a highly regulated and structured environment, and adhere to correctional facility security protocols.
What You'll Need:
Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required Minimum of 3-5 years of food service management experience. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP and ServSafe certification. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Ability to pass a background check and drug test. Basic computer skills.
