1. Coordinating the preparation and serving of food to the student body to ensure good taste, nutrition, attractive appearance, and proper portion control in compliance with
DESE/USDA
guidelines.
2. Maintaining the highest standards of safety and cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
3. Maintaining financial and statistical data in cooperation with the Supervisor of School Nutrition as required by the District and DESE.
4. Managing staff scheduling - ensuring manpower is adequate to staff kitchen.
5. Monitor, supervise, and evaluate employee performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
6. Perform yearly written evaluations of hourly staff members.
7. Managing food inventory/ordering, including perishable and non-perishable food stock.
8. Ensuring food is prepared according to daily menus and that the food product is presentable and of nutritional value.
9. Providing and coordinating catering services as requested.
10. Performing other related tasks as may be required by the Director of School Nutrition or Building Principal.
11. ServSafe & Allergen certification required.
12. 2-3 years of experience in quantity food production, institutional food service, or personnel supervision.
13. Computer skills needed include online order entry knowledge, POS financial reporting, Google docs & spreadsheets.
14. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
15. Associate degree or four year degree is required.
