This role ensures the restaurant consistently delivers outstanding customer service, high-quality food, operational excellence, and a safe, respectful work environment. Department Managers coach and develop crew members, drive results, and support the General Manager in achieving restaurant goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and motivate crew members to deliver exceptional customer service. Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful work environment. Train and develop employees on Company policies, procedures, food safety, and operational standards. Provide ongoing coaching, recognition, and performance feedback. Assist with onboarding and training new employees. Support employee engagement and retention initiatives. Operations Manage daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency, cleanliness, and food quality. Ensure compliance with McDonald's operational standards and Company policies. Monitor service times, order accuracy, and guest satisfaction. Complete operational checklists, food safety procedures, and quality inspections. Assist with inventory management, product ordering, and waste control. Ensure proper cash handling and security procedures are followed. Help achieve restaurant sales, labor, and profitability goals. Food Safety & Cleanliness Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe restaurant environment. Monitor product quality, freshness, and proper food handling procedures. Address maintenance and equipment concerns promptly. Customer Service Lead by example in providing friendly, fast, and accurate service. Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly. Promote a guest-focused culture throughout the restaurant. Compliance & Safety Follow and enforce Company policies, including: Food Safety Standards Workplace Safety Anti-Harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity Drug-Free Workplace Cash Handling and Security Attendance and Scheduling Maintain confidentiality of employee and Company information. Report workplace concerns, accidents, and policy violations promptly. Administrative Responsibilities Complete required documentation accurately and timely. Assist with scheduling and labor management. Monitor productivity and staffing needs throughout each shift. Participate in restaurant meetings and Company training programs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous restaurant or retail supervisory experience preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Basic computer and technology skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Bend, reach, twist, kneel, and climb as needed. Work in varying temperatures, including near grills, fryers, freezers, and refrigerators. Safely operate restaurant equipment.
