The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of dietary management, patient assessment, and nutrition principles, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food services that meet residents' needs. As Food Service Director, you will lead the dietary department with a focus on safety, compliance, and exceptional service, fostering a positive and efficient team environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement nutritious, appealing menus tailored to residents' dietary requirements and preferences, including specialized diets such as tube feeding or modified textures. Supervise dietary staff by providing leadership, training, and ongoing support to ensure adherence to safety standards and quality assurance protocols. Conduct patient assessments to inform individualized care plans that incorporate nutritional needs and health goals. Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring compliance with health regulations, sanitation standards, and best practices in food safety. Manage departmental budgeting, inventory control, and procurement to optimize resources while maintaining high standards of service. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to evaluate diagnostic results and adjust care plans accordingly for optimal nutrition outcomes. Provide health coaching and education to residents regarding proper nutrition, lifestyle choices, and care plans to promote overall well-being. Lead efforts in quality improvement initiatives within the dietary department to enhance resident satisfaction and operational efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience in dietary management within assisted living or healthcare settings. Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition science, and dietetics principles applicable to diverse resident populations. Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing dietary teams. Familiarity with patient assessment techniques and developing individualized care plans based on medical evaluations. Experience with budgeting, inventory management, and procurement processes within a dietary department. Knowledge of tube feeding procedures, care plans for special diets, and diagnostic evaluation related to nutritional needs. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams, residents, families, and staff members. Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
