As a Shift Leader, you will play a crucial role in managing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and leading our local bakery in Ann Arbor to success. This position does not require previous baking experience, but does necessitate excellent personal skills, including a strong background in food production and hospitality management, along with the ability to effectively manage inventory and maintain high standards of quality. Duties Oversee daily baking operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company quality standards Make sure every customer leaves with top-notch treats, and a positive guest interaction, growing our loyal base of devoted followers. Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, placing orders as needed, and minimizing waste. Train, mentor, and supervise team members to enhance their skills in food service and hospitality. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work area. Assist in food production processes to guarantee quality and presentation standards are met. Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving any issues promptly. Collaborate with management to implement new initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and guest satisfaction. Skills Strong knowledge of inventory control processes within the food industry. Experience in food service management, including bakery or coffee establishments. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team effectively. Understanding of digital point-of-sale systems, and basic math skills for sales. Familiarity with food production techniques and best practices. Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and staff professionally. Background in hospitality management or bartending is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
