Job Description

The Food/Beverage Supervisor is responsible for supporting the successful day-to-day operation of restaurant and banquet services, with a strong focus on training, mentoring, and developing employees to deliver consistent, exceptional service . This position provides hands-on leadership to restaurant and banquet staff by setting clear expectations, coaching employees throughout their shifts, reinforcing service standards, and helping team members develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed. The Food/Beverage Supervisor will lead by example and foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. Additional responsibilities include overseeing restaurant and banquet activities, assisting with and expediting guest orders as needed, monitoring inventory and supplies, and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and control costs. To be successful in this role, the Food/Beverage Supervisor should demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. The supervisor should be comfortable providing constructive feedback, recognizing strong performance, addressing performance concerns, and taking appropriate corrective action when necessary. Ultimately, this position plays an important role in building a knowledgeable, engaged service team while ensuring guests receive a consistently welcoming and high-quality experience. Food/Beverage Supervisor Responsibilities Train and onboard new restaurant and banquet employees, ensuring they understand service standards, procedures, and job expectations. Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to employees to strengthen service skills, product knowledge, teamwork, and overall performance. Lead by example and reinforce a positive, professional, and guest-focused workplace culture. Identify employee development opportunities and provide constructive, timely feedback. Recognize strong employee performance and encourage continued professional growth. Assign responsibilities to staff and provide active supervision and support throughout each shift. Help employees problem-solve and make sound decisions when handling guest service situations. Address performance concerns appropriately and consistently, including corrective or disciplinary action when necessary. Help resolve conflicts between staff members in a professional and constructive manner. Coordinate appropriate staffing coverage and assist in finding replacements in cases of employee absence. Check in with dining guests to ensure satisfaction with food quality and service. Resolve guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally. Expedite guest orders and assist restaurant and banquet staff during periods of high volume. Monitor inventory and ensure restaurant and banquet supplies and essentials are adequately stocked. Balance the cash register and complete applicable end-of-shift procedures. Review guest feedback and identify opportunities to improve service and the overall guest experience. Food/Beverage Supervisor Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Meets state minimum-age requirements to serve alcohol. Previous supervisory or leadership experience in the hospitality industry preferred. Demonstrated ability to train, coach, mentor, and motivate employees. Strong leadership and team-building skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain professional and effective in a fast-paced environment. Ability to provide constructive feedback and address employee performance concerns appropriately. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform other physical activities for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Pay:
From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
