FLOOR MANAGER / LEAD SERVER

Hwy 61 Roadhouse is looking for a who knows how to lead a restaurant by being part of the action. We are not looking for someone who wants to sit in an office all shift. We want a leader who is comfortable taking tables, helping servers, running food, checking on guests, supporting the bar and kitchen, and stepping in wherever the restaurant needs help. At Hwy 61 Roadhouse, the floor is your office. If you are an experienced server who naturally takes charge, helps your coworkers, handles pressure well, and wants an opportunity to move into restaurant management, this could be the right position for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As the Floor Manager / Lead Server, you'll help run the restaurant while also actively working on the floor.

You will:

Lead by Example

• Work alongside the team instead of simply telling people what to do. Serve Tables
• Take tables during your shift and provide excellent guest service. Manage the Floor
• Keep servers organized, sections covered, tables moving, and guests taken care of. Coach the Team
• Help servers improve service, menu knowledge, teamwork, communication, and upselling. Support the Kitchen
• Communicate with the kitchen and help make sure food is prepared and delivered correctly. Check Food Quality
• Make sure plates meet our standards before reaching guests. Handle Guest Concerns
• Address problems quickly and professionally before they become bigger issues. Control Labor
• Make smart decisions based on business volume and avoid unnecessary labor. Maintain Cleanliness
• Make sure the dining room, server stations, restrooms, entry areas, and other guest-facing areas remain clean. Keep the Team Productive
• There should always be something productive happening during the shift. Support Live Music & Events
• Help manage busy nights, special events, and our live-music atmosphere. Protect the Business
• Follow restaurant procedures involving discounts, comps, voids, cash handling, employee meals, and other controls. Close Strong
• Make sure assigned side work and cleaning responsibilities are completed before employees leave.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We want someone who understands that being a manager doesn't mean being above the work—it means being willing to do whatever is necessary to make the shift successful.

You should have:

Strong restaurant serving experience Previous leadership, shift-lead, supervisor, or management experience preferred Excellent guest-service skills Ability to lead and motivate employees Strong communication skills Ability to stay calm during high-volume shifts Confidence handling difficult guest situations Strong attention to cleanliness and food quality Dependability and punctuality Ability to hold employees accountable respectfully but firmly Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and busy events as required Most importantly, we're looking for someone with a "no task is beneath me" attitude. If food needs to be run—you run it. If a table needs help—you help them. If the restaurant needs cleaning—you help clean it. If the team is getting overwhelmed—you jump in.
