Job Description
Position Summary The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for over-seeing the service in the Food & Beverage Department. He/she is also responsible for assisting the manager with training, motivating, and coaching the staff, and monitoring expenses and controlling labor costs. Essential Functions Must adhere to the company's Service culture - 4 Keys to creating guests for life. Must participate in all required meetings and trainings. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag. Spearhead the service in the F&B departmet and ensure compliance with the policies and procedures. Train new associates as needed. Ensure work areas are properly stocked and prepare requisitions as needed. Ensure work areas are neat and clean. Ensure quality control of all menus with regards to cleanliness and appearance. Ensure that tables outside are cleared promptly. Ensure proper and timely service to the guests. Monitor food quality. Ensure communication with oncoming shift. Handling guest complaints or special requests, communicate to management when necessary. Monitor service and promote up selling. Knowledge of state liquor and food service laws. Ensure overall guest satisfaction. Abide by all resort policies and safety rules. Perform other duties as requested by management. Skills and Abilities Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel. Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision. Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently. Must be able to speak and understand and communicate the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Must possess excellent communication, follow up, and organizational skills. Must have the ability to push, pull bend, squat and lift on a regular basis. Safety requirements of PPE as needed for duty assigned and with use of required tools and equipment. Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up. Be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolving problems using good judgment. Follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest's service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
Job Qualifications/Requirements Education:
High School diploma or GED equivalence required.Experience:
Previous supervisory role in a café is preferred.Additional:
Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs; Scheduling includes holidays, nights, and weekends depending on hotel events and functionsPay:
The rate of pay for this position is $23Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:- Flexible and long hours sometimes required
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation
