COMPANYPlaya Bowls is New Jersey's Original Acai Shop, founded in 2014, and our mission is to bring superfruit bowls to the masses using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients while providing a fantastic in-store brand experience. What began as a pair of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge has flourished into a 350+ unit operator and franchisor of the leading fast casual restaurant concept. Playa Bowls added 85 locations in 2025 and are on target to add 90+ new locations in 2026. You're a positive, enthusiastic, and people-focused individual with a passion for superfoods, healthy living, and (of course) fruit! As a Shift Leader at Playa Bowls, you serve as an extension of the management team and are trusted to oversee shop operations in the absence of a manager. Youre confident in delegating tasks, leading by example, and making decisions that prioritize the needs of the shop and the team. WHAT YOULL DO

Oversee food quality throughout your shift, ensuring freshness and discarding products when necessaryDelegate tasks efficiently and responsibly to support smooth operations and team productivityLead and manage all aspects of opening and closing shifts with consistency and attention to detailHandle and process customer refunds accurately and professionallyAddress and resolve guest concerns in a courteous, solution-oriented mannerMonitor and record inventory levels throughout the shift, including end-of-day countsAccurately count and reconcile the register, safe, and daily depositsMaintain clear and timely communication with management regarding shift updates or operational issuesEnsure all tasks are completed efficiently and aligned with company standards and proceduresAct as a role model by embodying and promoting the Playa Bowls mission, purpose, and core values

WHAT YOULL

Proven ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced dynamic environment, quickly adjusting to changing priorities and customers needs to maintain seamless operations.

Skilled at prioritizing multiple responsibilities simultaneously, such as managing team productivity and assisting with customer service. Clear and effective communication with team members, managers, and customers with the ability to delegate tasks and provide instructions concisely. REQUIREMENTS

Must be available to work 5 shifts a week, minimum of 30 hours a weekMust be available weekends but expected to work as the business dictatesMust pass the required PB Food Safety certification requirement within 3 months of employment

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL

FUNCTIONSMust be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of timeMust be able to lift or otherwise move 25-40 pounds occasionallyMust be able to retrieve items from high and low shelving, the fridge/freezer, and under counters.

Must be able to tolerate occasionally loud environments (high powered blenders, timers, and order notifications).Ability to frequently move about inside the establishment to access the Point-of-Sale cash register, assemble guest orders, clear tables, restock inventory, etc.
