In the role of Meat Coordinator, you'll work with a team to ensure the best and freshest meat items are in stock, displayed creatively, and available for customers. If you have a passion for food and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, this could be the position for you! What will I do? + Possess an understanding of the products offered in the department + Maintain the overall appearance of the department, ensure fresh product and levels are sustained, items are well-merchandised in innovative, eye-appealing displays and stocked in correct locations, while recognizing seasonal, holiday and weather effects on product sales + Proactively approach customers, assist them in locating products throughout the department, provide suggestions for meal solutions, and answer any questions they may have about products + Understand how products look/taste at peak of perfection, ensure use core recipes and techniques to provide a consistent and quality outcome​ + Assist in ordering and inventory processes, utilizing ordering guides to help control inventory and shrink Required Qualifications + Customer service experience Preferred Qualifications + Experience utilizing a variety of cooking techniques + Experience working in a butcher shop + Managerial/supervisory experience + Experience with or knowledge of different cuts of meat and poultry At Wegmans, we've always believed we can achieve our goals only if we first fulfill the needs of our people.
