6:00 am-2:00 pm Monday- Friday The Culinary Supervisor oversees daily kitchen and food service operations, combining hands-on cooking with supervisory responsibilities. This role ensures food is prepared safely, consistently, and to quality standards while guiding and supporting kitchen staff during shifts. The Culinary Supervisor acts as the primary point of contact for keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements:
Cooking & Food Preparation Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards Monitor food quality, taste, temperature, and appearance throughout preparation and service Prep ingredients (chopping, portioning, marinating, etc.) ahead of service periods Adjust production levels based on volume, forecasts, and special events Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation (FIFO) Supervision & Team Leadership Lead, direct, and coordinate kitchen staff during shifts, assigning stations and tasks Train new employees on recipes, procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use Monitor staff performance and provide real-time coaching and feedback Step in to resolve workflow bottlenecks or staffing gaps during service Communicate with front-of-house/service staff to ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment Assist management with scheduling input and shift coverage as needed Food Safety & Sanitation Enforce food safety standards (HACCP, local health codes) and proper handling procedures Ensure kitchen, equipment, and storage areas meet cleanliness and sanitation standards Conduct or oversee temperature checks and maintain required logs Ensure staff compliance with proper hygiene, uniform, and safety protocols Inventory & Operations Monitor inventory levels and communicate reorder needs to management Receive and verify deliveries; check for quality and accuracy Help control food costs by minimizing waste and following portion guidelines Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report malfunctions promptly Qaulifications Required High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in a food service/kitchen role 1+ year in a lead, supervisory, or shift-lead capacity Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to read and follow recipes and preparation instructions Strong communication and team leadership skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with data entry Experience operating a Mosaic register/POS system
