Job Description

Position Summary:
This position carries overall responsibility for assisting in the development, planning, organizing, controlling and integration of food service management and related services for Robert Packer Hospital. Scope of responsibility includes management of the hospital cafeteria, control of the food service inventory, management of the CBORD system, dietary department, vending, catering and outside contracts. Works in collaboration with department managers, salespeople and customers. Manages achieving excellence in food service including plans for sales, costs and profit enhancements. Ensures all staff demonstrate a service orientation toward customers. All responsibilities aggregated under this position are service related, and therefore, a strong service orientation is an essential requirement for successful management of these areas.
Education:
High School diploma required; Bachelors preferred.
Essential Functions:
Manages all cafeteria operations stressing the highest quality customer satisfaction. Provides leadership to department applications manager and executive chef Provides leadership to department supervisors Provides leadership to inventory management and cost management initiatives. Provides ongoing analysis of inventory levels, turns, stock rates, and uses the decision support
Other Duties:
Adopts a plan of personal growth and development Assists in the orientation of new employees. Carries out other responsibilities as may be necessary. Participates in hospital committees, projects, and performance improvement teams as appropriate. Recognizes and utilizes opportunities to teach other staff Represents the department externally as required. Pay range min $31.15/hr max $48.61
