Job Description

We're looking for a Culinary Lead with the desire to refine and showcase their craft while leading a collaborative kitchen team. We're especially excited to work with someone inspired to develop a distinct culinary point of view through recipes and ideas that thoughtfully align with the vision of D F W. This role is designed as a highly collaborative platform for the right person to be championed—with the autonomy, trust, and support to develop their culinary voice and build recognition around their work. D F W is a lounge, not a traditional restaurant. Our food program is intentionally focused: a carefully edited selection that sits between tapas and entrées: approachable, surprising, nourishing, and designed to complement the rhythm of the space. We're looking for a Culinary Lead who finds creativity in refinement: overseeing a small menu of memorable dishes, executing them with consistency, and creating a food experience that feels unexpected, thoughtful, and distinctly D F W. This is a leadership role, focused on service execution and day-to-day kitchen operations with R&D influence, designed with a clear path to a Chef position. As a member of the opening team, you will work across all facets of the kitchen, helping to implement and build upon systems. An ideal candidate is inspired by the creative potential of ingredients, appreciates the technical production of service, and understands that a consistently executed menu is the foundation that allows for imaginative and seasonal offerings. You also understand the cruciality of a well-managed kitchen to support innovation and spontaneity. If you appreciate the value of building a strong communal culture, working closely with small farms and thoughtful purveyors, and continuously strive to become a better version of yourself, we'd love to hear from you.
